In the age of digital editing, we've grown to be more critical when looking at an image. Which is why this surreal photo of an intricately carved piece of furniture seemed like any other fabricated creation we'd find online. But it turns out this cabinet merits a double-take: the image, which appears to be blurred, actually features a hand-crafted work of art called 'Good Vibrations' by Italian designer Ferruccio Laviani (represented by Milan's Fratelli Boffi Design House). Go ahead, take another look.
It's safe to say that the image speaks for itself. With its whimsical curves, jagged edges and overall JPEG-esque appearance, the aesthetic brings Photoshop distortion to mind. But in actuality, we're simply in awe by the level of craftsmanship involved. And according to our friends at BuzzFeed, 'Good Vibrations' is set to make its public viewing debut at the Salone Del Mobile Expo in Milan this April. (Like we needed another reason to visit the city...)
