JLS Star Encourages Kids To Get In Touch With Their Feelings

Marvin Humes, from X Factor success story JLS, is helping to launch Childline's new online campaign and website. He's pictured on the right with children dressed as 'moodies' - these symbols can be found on the site to help children track their moods.

Marvin says he hopes the new website will help children express their feelings, something he can relate to. He says: "Everyone has bad days, even pop stars. When I'm touring with JLS it can get stressful and I miss my family, but talking to my bandmates about it makes me feel better.

"When children find it difficult to talk about their feelings and problems to their friends and family, ChildLine is there for them"

The new website provides information and advice on issues that affect children and young people. It has fun things like games, videos and tools so children can get creative. It also has a 'daily moodtracker' to help children express how they are feeling. If they feel worried or upset, they can email or post a message on the site or request one to one support with a counsellor online.

Whilst this is a new online service, ChildLine's telephone counsellors are still available on 0800 1111. The charity has helped over 2.3 million children and young people so far.

The site also offers children tools to express their feelings through poems, pictures and emoticon-type 'moodies' to get more of a handle on their moods. While there, children can watch videos, make badges or play games. If you find that your child has been a bit moody lately, but won't talk to you about it, using this site would be a great way for them to explore their feelings in a safe, confidential space.
