Flat Caps Are Back: Beckham Kids Go For The Hovis Look

Are the Beckham children becoming trendsetters, just like their famous parents?

The two youngest sons of Victoria and David Beckham, Cruz and Romeo, turned up at the glitzy Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles last night wearing urchin-style flat caps.

Along with their 11-year-old brother Brooklyn, Cruz, five, and Romeo, seven, accompanied their football legend dad onto the stage to collect the Choice Male Athlete award, hosted by popstar Katy Perry.

The Yorkshire tyke style caps brought to mind the famous Hovis ad from the Seventies. It remains to be seen whether their retro style will catch on – but if their parents are anything to go by, less famous kids and teens will all be wearing them any time now.

The three boys were obviously enjoying themselves. They grinned as they held their dad's surfboard-shaped award for him while he booted a football out into the screaming audience before leaving the stage.

On the evening Becks was asked about his 36-year-old wife's best attributes, and replied: 'There are so many things – I think the main thing is she's an amazing mother. To see her grow into a person with children, and she's become this amazing person with the children. That's one of the most attractive things about Victoria, and about any woman.'

Despite the couple's regular jet-setting across the Atlantic, Becks, 35, said being good parents to their boys is their number one priority.

'We've been married 11 years and we make it work. We make time for each other,' he said.

'We work hard as individuals but our main job is being parents. Our boys are our lives so our No.1 priority is our boys but then we make time for ourselves. We go for dinner, romantic weekends and you make it work, of course.'
